Why Dolby's?

For more than 20 years, baseball was a huge part of my life. I was my son’s biggest fan, spending countless hours at games, on the road, and cheering him on through every season. I loved every minute of it — the excitement, the community, the energy, and the memories that came with the game.

When that chapter of life came to an end, I found myself asking a question so many parents eventually face: What now? After years of schedules, practices, and weekends at the field, I suddenly had time to rediscover who I was outside of baseball.

Two things have always been constants in my life: my love for the game and my love for coffee. Anyone who knows me knows both are a part of who I am. I wanted to create something that reflected that passion and sense of connection, but in a way that felt elevated, intentional, and uniquely my own — without turning it into a baseball-themed business.

That’s when the name clicked.

Our last name is Dolbashian, but for as long as I can remember, my son’s nickname on and off the field was “Dolby.” It was familiar, personal, and filled with years of memories. The name carried meaning, history, and heart — and it felt like the perfect foundation for something new.

And that’s how Dolby’s Coffee was born.

What started as a love for coffee became something bigger: a way to create experiences, bring people together, and build a brand rooted in passion, creativity, quality, and connection. Dolby’s Coffee is more than just coffee — it’s the start of a new chapter inspired by the moments, people, and memories that helped shape it.
